Watch: Kim Gun Woo And Lee Won Jung Set Out To Find A Missing Jung Shin Hye In Teaser For New Drama
tvN’s upcoming drama “Road to Surgeon” (literal translation) has released a new teaser and poster ahead of its premiere!
Part of CJ ENM’s short drama project “O’PENing,” which features scripts from new screenwriters, “Road to Surgeon” is a story of growth about medical residents Kim Joo No (Kim Gun Woo) and Lee Dae Gil (Lee Won Jung), who work to track down the youngest resident Kim Hye Won (Jung Shin Hye) after she abruptly disappears just before a surgical skills competition for first-year residents.
The newly released teaser opens with scenes of exhausted residents pushed to their limits by the relentless demands of hospital life. Amid this chaos, Kim Hye Won suddenly vanishes, leaving behind only a message stating that she cannot go on. Determined to find her, Kim Joo No and Lee Dae Gil set out in search of their missing colleague, declaring, “At this point, it’s do-or-die.”
The accompanying poster highlights the dynamic relationships among the first-, second-, and third-year residents. The captions “I’ll definitely bring her back!” and “Doctor, why did you want to become a surgeon?” hint at the inner turmoil and personal growth experienced by the characters.
Despite the serious undertones, the poster’s bright and cheerful aesthetic suggests that viewers can expect warmth, humor, and heartfelt human drama from the story.
The production team shared, “This drama is structured like a road movie, following the bittersweet journey of young people questioning, ‘Why am I on this path?’ It’s a story about coming to understand other people’s choices and also reflecting on their own. Please look forward to the passionate performances of Kim Gun Woo, Lee Won Jung, and Jung Shin Hye, as well as the performances of the guest stars who gladly made special appearances.”
“Road to Surgeon” will air its first and second episodes consecutively on June 14 at 11 p.m. KST.
