Lim Ji Yeon In Talks To Star In New Fantasy Rom-Com
Lim Ji Yeon may be starring in a new project soon!
On June 17, Ilgan Sports reported that, according to industry insiders, Lim Ji Yeon has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming SBS drama “Brave New World” (literal title). Filming is expected to begin in the second half of this year, with the premiere slated for early next year.
In response to the report, a representative from Lim Ji Yeon’s agency Artist Company stated, “Lim Ji Yeon has been offered a role in ‘Brave New World’ and is currently reviewing the offer.”
“Brave New World” is a romantic comedy centered on the fiery, love-hate relationship between Shin Seo Ri, a wicked woman from the Joseon Dynasty, and Cha Se Gye, a ruthless modern-day chaebol. The series will be directed by Han Tae Seop, who co-directed “Stove League” and directed “Cheer Up.”
In the drama, Lim Ji Yeon is set to play Shin Seo Ri, an unknown actress who becomes possessed by the spirit of a notorious Joseon-era villainess, drastically altering her personality. She was once a high-ranking concubine, but she was labeled a femme fatale who shook the entire nation and was sentenced to death by poison. Transported to the 21st century, the character begins a new life, allowing Lim Ji Yeon to display a wide emotional range.
Lim Ji Yeon made her debut in the 2011 film “Dear Catastrophe” and has since built a diverse body of work across both film and television, including “Obsessed,” “High Society,” “The Glory,” and “The Tale of Lady Ok.” The actress is currently showcasing her personality and charm on the variety show “Fresh off the Sea 2.”
