Sooyoung, Gong Myoung, And Cast Bid Farewell With Heartfelt Remarks Ahead Of “Second Shot At Love” Finale Tonight
The cast of “Second Shot at Love” has shared their final thoughts ahead of tonight’s finale!
“Second Shot at Love” is a rom-com that follows Han Geum Ju (Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung), a self-proclaimed “reasonable drinker” who unexpectedly reunites with her first love Seo Ui Jun (Gong Myoung)—a man who despises alcohol—and decides to take on the challenge of quitting drinking.
Sooyoung, who portrayed veteran mechanic Han Geum Ju on her first journey toward sobriety, shared, “It was such a special project because I got to follow one person’s journey and love story from high school to college and into her thirties. I’m especially grateful to Gong Myoung, who helped create this beautiful love story with me.”
She added, “In a society where offering alcohol feels so natural, I hope ‘Second Shot at Love,’ which proudly advocates for sobriety, will stay with viewers as a story that reminds them to look around for support on those days when they feel the need to lean on something.”
Gong Myoung, who showed heartfelt sincerity as Seo Ui Jun, Geum Ju’s steadfast supporter, remarked, “It feels like we just started filming yesterday, so I can’t believe it’s already the final broadcast. Through this project, I was able to grow as an actor, and the time I spent with such wonderful senior actors was an invaluable experience.”
Kim Sung Ryung, who played Geum Ju’s mother Kim Gwang Ok—the one who declared a ban on drinking in their household—said with a smile, “I hope this warm story we created together provided even a small comfort to viewers. Drinking may be part of everyday life in our society, but it’s time to leave behind drinking habits that harm our health. I hope we can all move toward a better way.”
Kim Sang Ho, who brought warmth and humor as Geum Ju’s father Han Jung Soo, shared, “Because we depicted the small, everyday moments of family life, filming was always pleasant and heartwarming. I hope this drama remains a happy memory for viewers as well.”
Lastly, Jo Yoon Hee, who played Geum Ju’s older sister Han Hyun Joo, said, “I’m grateful for every moment I got to spend with such wonderful co-stars. Especially working with director Jang Yoo Jung allowed me to fully focus on acting with sincerity. I sincerely thank all the viewers who supported us with so much love.”
