Yang Se Jong Transforms Into A Small-Time Crook Chasing A Sunken Treasure In “Low Life”
Disney+’s upcoming original series “Low Life” has shared more insights into Yang Se Jong’s character!
Based on the webtoon of the same name, “Low Life” is a crime drama that follows a group of down-on-their-luck country folks as they chase after a sunken treasure ship beneath the sea.
Yang Se Jong stars as Oh Hee Dong. Raised by his uncle Oh Gwan Seok (Ryu Seung Ryong), Hee Dong grew up resorting to petty theft and scams to make ends meet. Hardened by life’s harsh realities, he sets out on a perilous quest with his uncle to recover valuable ceramics buried in the waters off the coast of Sinan.
The newly released stills capture Oh Hee Dong’s striking presence—his long hair and piercing gaze stand out against the backdrop of a bustling port. In another image, his resolute expression and altered aura offer a glimpse into the inner transformation his character will undergo.
Yang Se Jong shared, “The script was incredibly exciting—it made my heart race. I was drawn to Hee Dong’s manly, straightforward, and bold nature.” He added, “I learned so much on set from director Kang Yoon Sung. As we shaped and brought Oh Hee Dong to life together, it truly felt like the character was breathing.”
Director Kang Yoon Sung commented, “In his previous works, Yang Se Jong came across as clean-cut and boyish. I thought viewers would find it even more refreshing to see him take on a powerful role like Oh Hee Dong.”
The 11-episode run of “Low Life” begins July 16 with three episodes, followed by two episodes each on July 23, July 30, August 6, and August 13.
