Ahead of its premiere, “Head Over Heels” unveiled three reasons to tune in to the drama!

1. Cho Yi Hyun, Choo Young Woo, and Cha Kang Yoon’s chemistry

The biggest point to anticipate in the upcoming drama will be the perfect synergy between Cho Yi Hyun, Choo Young Woo, and Cha Kang Yoon. Cho Yi Hyun shared, “There are many scenes waiting to captivate viewers such as Cheonji Fairy Seong A’s ritual and the process of her saving Gyeon U. Please tune in to ‘Head Over Heels,’ which will show various charms.”

Choo Young Woo shared, “I’m certain viewers will fall deeply for ‘Head Over Heels’ as they enjoy Seong A and Gyeon U’s diverse chemistry. From their intense first meeting to high school student and shaman Seong A’s double life and Gyeon U’s narrative—[the story] will be like a whirlwind, so please watch from the first episode.”

Cha Kang Yoon, who portrays Pyo Ji Hoon—a character who is only kind to his close friend Park Seong A, shared, “The first meeting between Seong A, Gyeon U, and Ji Ho as well as how their relationship develops will be the biggest points to anticipate. I’m confident that this is a project that will make Mondays and Tuesdays filled with love. Please give it lots of love.”

Choo Ja Hyun plays shaman Yeom Hwa who became a ghost in order to survive. She shared, “In episodes 1 and 2, the relationship between characters will develop quickly, and viewers will feel a great sense of immersion,” mentioning that viewers will be able to find many diverse new sides to the actors and enjoyment in the unique subject.

2. Collaboration between director Kim Yong Wan and writer Yang Ji Hoon

Director Kim Yong Wan of “The Whirlwind,” “The Cursed,” and “If You Wish Upon Me” teamed up with scriptwriter Yang Ji Hoon for the upcoming drama. Director Kim Yong Wan shared, “The fusion of romantic comedy, a heartwarming human drama, and occult and sports [elements] was intriguing, and I loved the sincerity of the message within [that story].” The director added, “The scenes of a 18-year-old high school student shaman chasing away various ghosts in order to save her first love Gyeon U came across as charming. You will begin to root for Seong Ah as she fights to save Gyeon U—not just from ghosts but from people, who can be scarier than ghosts, prejudice, and misunderstanding.”

Scriptwriter Yang Ji Hoon further shared, “Gyeon U’s life is filled with hardship, but Seong A will never let go of him. Please look forward to the salvation story of Seong A and Gyeon U who overcome difficulty while jumping across the hurdle of a fate destined for death.”

3. Star-studded veteran actor lineup

Viewers also can’t miss out on the acting of the veteran actors. Kim Mi Kyung will play the blunt and bold General Dongcheon. Using a sword over bells, General Dongcheon raised Seong A freely with much love, raising anticipation for how she will help Seong A as she fights to save Gyeon U. Yoon Byung Hee will charm as Kkotdoryeong, known for his powerful talismans. Lee Soo Mi will provide entertainment as a strong presence even among powerful shamans while giving assistance to Cheonji Fairy and General Dongcheon. Gil Hae Yeon will play Gyeon U’s only family member Oh Ok Soon who only wishes ordinary happiness for her grandson Gyeon U. She will develop a deep bond with Cheonji Fairy Seong A.

Director Kim Yong Wan stated, “The chemistry of the actors was so perfect that no words were needed. Actors Kim Mi Kyung and Yoon Byung Hee took on a new challenge from their hairstyle to outfits. They delivered both fun and touching moments.” Writer Yang Ji Hoon shared, “During the test shoot, I was blown away by the performances of Yeom Hwa and General Dongcheon. They were more charismatic than the script, so I went back and completely revised all the shaman scenes in the script.”

“Head Over Heels” will premiere on June 23 at 8:50 p.m. KST.
