P NATION Apologizes For Controversial "F Girl" Debut MV Teaser For New Girl Group Baby DONT Cry
P NATION has released a statement on the recent controversy surrounding the marketing of its upcoming girl group Baby DONT Cry.
Earlier this week, P NATION came under fire for a now-deleted music video teaser for its new girl group Baby DONT Cry’s upcoming debut track “F Girl.” In the teaser, one of the group’s members placed an item that many noted resembled a condom wrapper on a convenience store counter before opening it and eating a candy that had apparently been hidden inside.
As three out of the group’s four members are minors, the agency drew criticism for the seemingly suggestive nature of the teaser, along with the potential implications of the song’s title “F Girl” and the group’s cherry logo.
On June 22, P NATION responded to the controversy by releasing the following statement in English:
This is P NATION.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all who have expressed interest in and support for Baby DONT Cry as they approach their official debut.
We are aware that the teaser video for the debut title track “F Girl” have raised concerns among certain members of the public and fan community. We deeply regret any discomfort or concern this may have caused, and we offer our heartfelt apologies to those affected.
“F Girl” contains the message of embracing one’s authentic self and moving beyond externally imposed standards, such as A-F letter grades or labels. The opening scene of “F Girl” teaser 1 was intended to convey a playful and rebellious tone through imagery such as chewing gum and holding a lollipop. We express with the utmost clarity that there was never any intent to sexualize this scene. Furthermore, we affirm that the full music video contains no provocative or sexualized content of any kind.
Nevertheless, in order to avoid further misunderstanding or concern, and with full respect for the feedback received from our audience, we have made the decision to remove the scene in question from the “F Girl” music video, reflecting our commitment to safeguarding the members of Baby DONT Cry and to embracing the voice of the fan community.
We would also like to address the use of the cherry as a symbol for Baby DONT Cry. The cherry was chosen to embody vibrancy, boldness, and youthful energy—qualities that reflect the group’s identity. As it is widely embraced as a positive and lively symbol across global brands and creative content, we approached its use with the same intention. At no point did we consider or reference any interpretations beyond this positive spirit.
Baby DONT Cry is deeply treasured by all those involved in its creation. To us, this group represents a truly valued and cherished endeavor. Each member is deserving of sincere support, care, and encouragement. We earnestly hope that their dedication and efforts will be met with understanding and appreciation from audiences. We remain firmly committed to supporting their journey in a manner that reflects the respect, sincerity, and positive spirit with which this project was brought to life.
Thank you.
