Yum Jung Ah Wields Power Over Dex In New Drama “The Defects”
ENA’s upcoming drama “The Defects” has teased the dynamic between Yum Jung Ah and Dex!
Based on a popular webtoon, “The Defects” is an action thriller about children who have been abandoned by their adoptive parents—and their fight for survival and revenge.
In the drama, Yum Jung Ah plays Kim Se Hee, a respected figure in the medical world who, beneath the surface, is the mastermind behind an illegal adoption trafficking ring. Dex portrays Jung Hyun, a human weapon raised in secrecy by Se Hee and a key player in the criminal operation, hinting at a powerful on-screen presence.
The newly released stills feature the striking contrast between Se Hee, the cold blooded manipulator, and Jung Hyun, the human weapon who follows her with complete obedience.
Se Hee stands out with her dual charisma, offering a gentle smile to Jung Hyun while maintaining a cold, piercing gaze.
In contrast, Jung Hyun draws interest with his silent loyalty, staying faithfully by her side. The subtle emotional tension and underlying power dynamic between the two are expected to play a pivotal role in the story, building anticipation for how the plot unfolds.
Jung Hyun’s blind loyalty to Se Hee, the person directly responsible for carrying out the shocking operation, raises questions about the origin of their bond. Their dangerously close relationship, stronger than blood, is expected to heighten the drama’s tension.
Screenwriter Ahn So Jung said, “I feel especially attached to the relationship between Se Hee and Jung Hyun,” adding, “Se Hee takes advantage of Jung Hyun’s weaknesses to turn him into the perfect tool. Jung Hyun, who does not understand love, gives everything to the person he is devoted to. Please pay close attention to the relationship between Jung Hyun’s unrequited affection and Se Hee, who coldly uses him without regret.”
“The Defects” is set to premiere on July 21 at 10 p.m. KST.
