Seohyun Tries To Win Taecyeon’s Heart Through Cooking In “The First Night With The Duke”
KBS2’s “The First Night with the Duke” has dropped new stills ahead of tonight’s episode!
“The First Night with the Duke” is a fantasy romance drama about an ordinary college student whose soul is transported into a minor character in a romance novel, Cha Sun Chaek (Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun). After waking up in the world of the novel, she ends up spending the night with the obsessive male lead, Yi Beon (2PM’s Taecyeon).

Previously, Cha Sun Chaek, who had long waited for a chance to step aside, eventually realized how deeply her love for Yi Beon had grown. Determined to move forward, she not only joined the third round of the royal bridal selection for Yi Beon’s wedding but also began expressing her feelings to him directly. She treated him with a warmth and sincerity that is noticeably different from before.
However, Cha Sun Chaek continued to face a series of troubling setbacks, including an unexplained illness caused by the schemes of the villainess Do Hwa Seon (Chi Hae Won). To make matters worse, she was pushed into a pond by someone. Even so, Yi Beon, who once entered a plague-stricken village without hesitation, dived into the water again to save Cha Sun Chaek, heightening anticipation for their deepening romance.
In the newly released stills, Cha Sun Chaek draws attention as she appears in an apron, transforming into a cook. Despite the harsh conditions, she confidently handles a knife and diligently kneads dough. Her actions hint at the strong cooking skills she developed in her past as college student K, sparking curiosity about what kind of dish she will create.
In contrast to the servant (Song Young Jae), who waves his hands dismissively, Yi Beon’s gentle smile as he looks fondly at Cha Sun Chaek also stands out. The sharpness of the once cold and ruthless tyrant is gone, replaced by the tenderness of a man in love. His expression alone softens the hearts of those who see him. Viewers are left wondering what sweet and unexpected moments this unpredictable couple’s romance will bring next.
