Shinji’s Fiancé MoonOne Issues Statement After Facing Multiple Allegations

Shinji’s fiancé MoonOne has released a statement addressing various allegations about his past.

In June, Shinji’s agency confirmed that the Koyote member will be marrying singer MoonOne in the first half of next year.

On July 2, MoonOne appeared on Shinji’s YouTube channel, where he met her Koyote groupmates Kim Jong Min and Bbaek Ga. However, his remarks during the video sparked backlash. MoonOne said, “A lot of people now know me as Shinji’s boyfriend and fiancé. But I didn’t know Shinji was such a famous person. I realized I should treat her better.” He also revealed that he’s divorced and has a daughter, and had told Shinji about this after their relationship had deepened, saying, “At first she didn’t know, but as things got serious, I thought I should be honest.”

Many questioned how he could not know that Shinji is famous, given that Koyote has been active for 27 years and is widely loved in Korea, while others found it rude for him to say such things in front of Koyote themselves. There was also criticism over his not being upfront about his past from the beginning.

Following the video’s release, a wave of allegations about his past began surfacing online. Individuals claiming to be his army colleagues, schoolmates, and acquaintances began sharing stories, with some alleging that he used to bully them during his army days.

Moreover, one netizen wrote, “When news of their marriage broke, someone congratulated Shinji, but I commented under that post saying, ‘That guy is divorced and has a child.’ I remember people replying not to spread false rumors, and no one believed me.” The person continued, “He was seeing two women at once and got one pregnant, so they married in a rush. I’m an acquaintance of someone close to him and know his past well.” Meanwhile, another person claiming to know his ex-wife said, “Ask to see his divorce records. You’ll be shocked.”

In other online communities, allegations also emerged claiming MoonOne had been involved in real estate scams. One post stated, “If he’s the person I know, until recently, he worked in real estate scams. I don’t know if ‘scam’ is the right word, but he promoted property deals without a license. He took commissions under the table and eventually became successful.”

The YouTube video garnered over 2 million views within a day, with around 40,000 comments, many urging Shinji to reconsider the marriage.

On July 3, MoonOne posted the following statement on his Instagram:

Hello, this is MoonOne.
I wanted to sincerely address everyone, so I am writing this statement.

After the news of my marriage was announced, I came across many stories about myself. I was concerned about whether my own memories might be distorted, so I needed time to check and confirm the facts accurately. I ask for your understanding.

First, I deeply apologize to Koyote fans and Shinji’s fans who felt discomfort or disappointment due to my careless words and actions in the YouTube video uploaded on July 2, as well as the controversies surrounding me.

I feel especially sorry to Shinji, who should be receiving nothing but congratulations, and to everyone who sent us their well-wishes. As someone who will be walking alongside her as her partner, I am sorry and ashamed that my shortcomings have caused concern and misunderstandings among fans.

After finishing our radio broadcast yesterday, I read through the comments you left. I deeply reflect on how careless my words and behavior in the video were. Because I am so close to Shinji, I failed to consider the feelings of those who love and care for her. I am also reflecting on my actions and would like to sincerely apologize to Kim Jong Min and Bbaek Ga for showing disrespectful behavior.

Regarding the allegation that I worked in real estate brokerage without a license, this is true. During my unknown days, I started working there at an acquaintance’s recommendation to make a living, but I did not realize it was wrong to engage in brokerage work without certification. This was entirely my fault, and I will not make any excuses. I sincerely apologize to everyone who was disappointed by this and will take full responsibility for my actions.

However, I want to make it clear that some of the allegations are not true. The claims that I bullied friends or subordinates during my school or military days are completely false. I am willing to acquire and reveal objective evidence to prove this if necessary.

Additionally, it is true that I married my ex-wife after she became pregnant, but the claims that I was two-timing at the time are also completely false. Regarding the name change allegations, I would like to clarify that Park Sang Moon is my legal name. I simply changed my stage name from Gi Ryeon to MoonOne and have never changed my legal name.

I sincerely ask that people refrain from spreading unverified rumors and false information.

Once again, I apologize for causing concern. I will reflect deeply on my shortcomings and strive to become a more responsible person as I begin this new life with Shinji. I bow my head in apology once more.

Thank you for reading this long message.
