Kim Do Yeon In Talks To Star In New Movie
Kim Do Yeon may be returning to the big screen!
On July 23, EDaily reported that Kim Do Yeon has been cast in the upcoming movie “Dora” (literal title).
In response to the report, her agency Fantagio stated, “She has received an offer to appear in ‘Dora’ and is currently reviewing it.”
On the same day, it was also reported that Japanese actress Ando Sakura will be starring in the film. If confirmed, this will mark her first time appearing in a Korean production.
Set in a seaside village, “Dora” tells a story of female solidarity. It follows a young girl who carries both physical and emotional scars and begins to heal after meeting another woman. The film’s title is inspired by Sigmund Freud’s famous “Dora case.” Dora was the pseudonym Freud gave to an 18-year-old female patient whom he treated for several months in 1900, and he later published his analysis in 1905.
Kim Do Yeon has reportedly been offered the role of the main character Dora, while Ando Sakura will reportedly play the woman who helps heal Dora’s wounds.
“Dora” is scheduled to begin filming this August. Stay tuned for more updates!
