Kang Han Na Is Lee Chae Min’s Ruthless And Ambitious Concubine In 'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty'

tvN’s upcoming drama “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” has unveiled a sneak peek of Kang Han Na in character!

Based on a popular web novel, “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” is a fantasy romance drama starring Girls’ Generation’s Lim YoonA as Yeon Ji Young, an award-winning French chef who winds up traveling 500 years back into the past. There, she meets despotic king Lee Heon (Lee Chae Min), who is known as the worst of tyrants—and who also happens to be a discerning gourmet.

Kang Han Na will play the role of Lee Heon’s beautiful and talented concubine Kang Mok Joo, who excels at poetry, painting, and music. She even manages to capture the heart of Lee Heon, who infamously trusts no one, and with the king’s favor on her side, she has established herself as a powerful figure within the palace walls.

Although Kang Mok Joo is the only one who is able to calm the violent tyrant that is Lee Heon, the ambitious concubine secretly harbors an unquenchable thirst for power, and she aims to use the king to seize that power and climb to the top. Hidden behind her dazzling smile is a vicious ruthlessness, and when Kang Mok Joo wants something, she is willing to resort to any means necessary to get it.

Newly released stills from the upcoming drama offer a glimpse of the contrast between the innocent smile Kang Mok Joo wears when she is with the king and the royal family versus the sharp thorns that only come out when she is alone. Even in the dark, Kang Mok Joo’s eyes glitter with intense ambition, hinting at the vicious shadows hidden inside her charming exterior.

“Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” will premiere on August 23 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
