Gong Seung Yeon Shines On Stage During Her Idol Era In New Drama 'My Lovely Journey'

Upcoming drama “My Lovely Journey” has unveiled new stills highlighting Gong Seung Yeon’s character’s past dream!

Based on a bestselling Japanese novel by Maha Harada, “My Lovely Journey” tells the story of Kang Yeo Reum (Gong Seung Yeon), a former idol-turned-travel reporter who has never been the center of attention in her life. As she takes on travel assignments on behalf of others, she embarks on a journey of self-discovery, coming to understand the true meaning of success and life.

Gong Seung Yeon plays Kang Yeo Reum, a former idol now working as a travel show reporter. She trained for seven years before debuting as a member of the girl group Flower, but the group disbanded after just one year, giving her a taste of life’s hardships at an early age. Despite this devastating setback, Yeo Reum kept her trademark cheerful personality and has since worked as a travel reporter for five years.

In the newly released stills, Yeo Reum stands under bright stage lights while wearing a pure white stage outfit. Though she is not the group’s center, she radiates an undeniable presence and aura on stage. Looking at the camera with a confident gaze and expression, Yeo Reum showcases her fresh, charming appeal with a variety of poses and gestures.

The drama’s production team remarked, “Gong Seung Yeon perfectly captures Kang Yeo Reum’s diverse charms, from her past as an idol to her current job as a travel reporter. She dedicated her personal free time to practicing choreography, and she meticulously studied idols’ stage presence and facial expressions. Even though the scene showing her past is brief, her sincere effort will allow viewers to experience Kang Yeo Reum’s life story more vividly.”

“My Lovely Journey” premieres on August 2 at 9:20 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki. Check out the latest teaser for the drama here!
