Based on a popular webtoon, ENA’s “The Defects” is a new action thriller about children who have been abandoned by their adoptive parents—and their fight for survival and revenge.

Previously, the children were shocked to discover a secret organization trafficking illegal adoptions for the upper class. Faced with the horrific reality of children being bought and sold like at an auction, Ah Hyun (Won Jin Ah) vowed to shut down the system. However, she was caught by Kim Se Hee (Yum Jung Ah) and Jung Hyun (Dex), putting her on the brink of life and death.
Newly released stills show Se Hee revealing her cruel nature, driven by an unethical belief system. She meets Kwon Kang Man (Son Jong Hak), the father of Seok Su (Oh Seung Jun), who built his political power through the secret organization’s network, and begins taking decisive action.
Se Hee is obsessed with the dangerous idea of creating a “perfect human” through experimentation and control, rather than respecting life. Her cold, brutal nature takes viewers’ breath away, intensifying the suspense over her next move and the true extent of her madness.
Meanwhile, Ju An (Ahn Ji Ho), So Mi (Lee Naeun), and Seok Su visit the church run by Ju An’s adoptive father, Yoon Se Hoon, as they attempt to rescue Ah Hyun. With hidden truths emerging everywhere they go, the suspense builds around the true reason for their visit to the church, and around the fate of the still-missing Ah Hyun.
The upcoming episode reignites the call for revenge against the adoptive parents who harmed the children. It is expected to be a turning point as the façade of adults who pretended to be innocent violently clashes with the anger of the young survivors, unleashing a full-scale story of destruction.
The next episode of “The Defects” airs on August 4 at 10 p.m. KST!
