Hong Jin Kyung Announces Divorce After 22 Years Of Marriage
Hong Jin Kyung has divorced after 22 years of marriage.
On August 6, Hong Jin Kyung’s agency TN Entertainment confirmed, “It is true that she is divorced. Hong Jin Kyung finished filming with Jung Sun Hee for YouTube a few days ago.” It was reported that the two reached a mutual agreement and divorced amicably.
Following the statement, the video where Hong Jin Kyung speaks about her divorce was revealed on actress Jung Sun Hee’s YouTube channel. In the released video, Jung Sun Hee said, “A few months back, when you opened up to me that you had gotten divorced, you also said that you hadn’t told anyone else. I was sweating nervously by myself. But today, you said, ‘I can talk about it comfortably now.’”
Hong Jin Kyung responded, “All this time, I kept wondering, ‘When should I talk about this? Is it okay to just let things go on without saying anything?’ But it felt like I was hiding something. My heart always felt heavy, but I didn’t know the right timing or how or where to talk about it. But you’ve always been the person who knows everything about me, so if I ever had to talk about this, I thought I should do it in front of you. I feel most comfortable with you, and I can be honest about anything when I’m with you.”
Hong Jin Kyung explained that even after the divorce, they are all still on good terms. She shared, “He still comes over to the house often, and our families get along well too. I never realized how open my mom and my mother-in-law could be—it’s like Hollywood. They meet up often and have meals together.”
Hong Jin Kyung married a non-celebrity businessman in 2003 after five years of dating. They welcomed their daughter in 2010.
