Go Hyun Jung Is An Unrepentant Serial Killer In Upcoming Drama 'Queen Mantis'

SBS’s upcoming drama “Queen Mantis” has unveiled its first posters!

A remake of the French series “La Mante,” “Queen Mantis” is a crime thriller starring Go Hyun Jung as Jung Yi Shin, a famous serial killer nicknamed “The Mantis” who brutally murdered five men 20 years ago and has been imprisoned ever since. When a new serial killer emerges, copying The Mantis’s distinctive style, the police approaches Jung Yi Shin for her assistance in solving the case.

Jang Dong Yoon will star as Jung Yi Shin’s estranged son Cha Soo Yeol, a detective who has hated his mother all his life but suddenly finds himself working with her to solve the Mantis copycat murders.

The newly released posters offer a glimpse of Go Hyun Jung’s commanding presence as the intimidating Jung Yi Shin. In one poster, Jung Yi Shin stands alone in a dimly lit space. Although she isn’t wearing a prison uniform, her hands are cuffed, revealing that she is still under surveillance as a convicted serial killer.

The poster’s tagline emphasizes Jung Yi Shin’s lack of remorse while raising questions about her reasons for becoming a serial killer, reading, “Murder… it’s the best thing I’ve done in my entire life.”

The second poster’s tagline chillingly reads, “The smell of blood? I like it.”

“Queen Mantis” will premiere on September 5 at 9:50 p.m. KST. Check out a teaser for the drama here!
