Seo In Guk Brings Playful Charm And Agility As Monkey Angel With Big Dreams In “Twelve”

The upcoming action-hero drama “Twelve” has unveiled a captivating new character poster and stills of Seo In Guk!

Inspired by the 12 zodiac animals of the East, “Twelve” tells the story of 12 angels living in the human world in human form to protect the Korean Peninsula from evil spirits. Long ago, the angels barely managed to seal the forces of evil in the gates of hell through their sacrifice, bringing peace. However, with the evil spirits awakening, chaos returns.

Seo In Guk stars as Won Seung, the angel symbolizing the monkey. Among the 12 angels, Won Seung is the most agile and quick on his feet, harboring a grand dream of succeeding Tae San (Ma Dong Seok) as the next leader. While he may appear simple at first glance, his loyalty and sense of responsibility are unwavering.

Explaining what drew him to the role, Seo In Guk said, “I was drawn by the drama’s captivating premise.” He added, “I put a lot of thought into how to express Won Seung’s naturally cheerful personality,” raising expectations for the vibrant energy he’ll bring to the screen.

Director Han Yoon Sun explained, “Since the monkey is the animal most similar to humans, I wanted to showcase a wider range of emotions compared to other characters. I started with the idea of a pure-hearted angel who dreams of becoming the next leader and wanted to capture his growth.”

The newly released character poster features the Chinese character for monkey, filled with a warm, fur-like texture that reflects Won Seung’s warmth and playful charm.

Living up to his monkey-inspired agility, Seo In Guk trained extensively in parkour and action choreography, sharing, “I used quicker, sharper movements than usual to bring the action scenes to life.”

As both an actor and musician, Seo In Guk also served as co–music director for “Twelve,” further demonstrating his deep affection and passion for the project.

“Twelve” will premiere on August 23.
