Han Suk Kyu Is A Former Harvard Professor Turned Chicken Restaurant Owner In New Drama "Shin's Project"
tvN’s upcoming drama “Shin’s Project” has shared a character introduction and new stills introducing its intriguing protagonist!
“Shin’s Project” is a comedy series that follows the story of Mr. Shin, a man who takes it upon himself to mediate conflicts and assist people through seemingly unwinnable situations. Han Suk Kyu stars as Mr. Shin, a former legendary negotiator who now runs a modest chicken restaurant. He willingly rushes into every conflict, settles problems, and delivers justice as a neighborhood hero.
The newly released character introduction sums up Mr. Shin’s prestigious background and reveals that he is not just any former negotiator—he has served as a crisis negotiations advisor for the FBI and Interpol, and he was the youngest professor ever to teach a Harvard masterclass in negotiation. Once hailed as a “negotiation legend,” he is now frying chicken in a local neighborhood restaurant, raising questions about the unexpected twist in his career path.
A quote from Mr. Shin reads, “The law? Who would it serve for me to adhere to the law? You do things your way—I’ll do things my way!” This bold statement hints at his unconventional methods and strong sense of justice.
Meanwhile, the newly released stills show off both sides of Mr. Shin’s persona. One image captures him as a friendly, apron-wearing restaurant owner, busily preparing chicken for his customers. In contrast, another image shows him in a suit, eyes sharp with intensity, as he radiates the charismatic aura of a top-tier negotiator.
“Shin’s Project” is set to premiere this September.
