Go Hyun Jung Is A Mysterious Serial Killer In Upcoming Drama “Queen Mantis”
SBS’s upcoming drama “Queen Mantis” has shared new stills of Go Hyun Jung!
A remake of the French series “La Mante,” “Queen Mantis” is a crime thriller starring Go Hyun Jung as Jung Yi Shin, a famous serial killer nicknamed “The Mantis” who brutally murdered five men 20 years ago and has been imprisoned ever since. When a new serial killer emerges, copying The Mantis’s distinctive style, the police approaches Jung Yi Shin for her assistance in solving the case.
The newly released stills depict Jung Yi Shin sitting alone in a mysterious space, dressed in ordinary clothes instead of her prison uniform. Inside a barred room, with iron bars at both the entrance and the window, she exudes a strange and mysterious aura. One image shows her staring blankly out of a window, raising questions about what exactly she might be looking at.
In another still, her piercing gaze and expression—as if she has found a new source of excitement in her monotonous life, or is about to reveal a long-buried secret—immediately draw attention.
The production team commented, “Go Hyun Jung’s character Jung Yi Shin is a prisoner who committed serial murders over 20 years ago. But that doesn’t mean Go Hyun Jung will only appear in predictable settings in predictable ways. Jung Yi Shin will be a multi-dimensional character, and Go Hyun Jung will add depth to the role with her versatile and profound acting skills. Please show a lot of interest and anticipation for ‘Queen Mantis’ and Go Hyun Jung’s performance.”
“Queen Mantis” will premiere on September 5 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
