Park Seo Joon, Park Hae Il, And Choi Dae Hoon Confirmed To Star In New Film

Park Seo Joon, Park Hae Il, and Choi Dae Hoon are officially set to star in the upcoming film “Firefly” (working title)!

On August 21, the movie’s production companies announced that the starring cast for “Firefly” had been finalized and that filming would begin on September 27.

“Firefly” is a period mystery film that will switch back and forth between 1974, when South Korea was ruled by a military dictatorship, and the summer of 1950, just after the outbreak of the Korean War. The film will chase the secret truth behind an incident that affected the residents of Hwayong Village and has remained hidden for 24 years.

The movie will be helmed by Lee Joon Ik, the director of critically acclaimed films like “The King and the Clown,” “Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet,” Anarchist from Colony,” and “The Book of Fish.”

Park Hae Il will star as Man Seop, a mysterious figure who lures Detective Joon Kyung to Hwayong in 1974 by baiting him with the promise of a major boost to his performance record.

Park Seo Joon will play Joon Kyung, a detective whose career prospects have long been blocked by the shackles of guilt by association. Hoping to advance his stalled career, Joon Kyung takes the bait cast by Man Seop and heads to Hwayong, where he gradually inches closer to the truth of what happened to the villagers there back in 1950.

Finally, Choi Dae Hoon will play Tae Sik, a deputy director at the Korean Central Intelligence Agency (KCIA), an organization that was above the law and the police, in 1974. Tae Sik is a man who confidently believes that all of his actions are patriotic acts.
