Actor Lee Byung-hun will hold a large-scale fan meeting at the Tokyo Dome in Japan on May 3.

An official from Lee’s agency, Phantom, said on Mar. 13, "We have decided to hold a large-scale fan meeting for Lee Byung-hun under the co-sponsorship of Phantom, Hakuhodo DY Media Partners, Asahi TV, Asahi Shimbun, and ‘ON THE LINE.’"

The Tokyo Dome is a large public facility where the world’s top stars, such as The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney and Whitney Houston, have performed. It is the home stadium of the Japanese professional baseball team, the Yomiuri Giants.

It is also well-known to Korean baseball fans as the ballpark where slugger Lee Seung-yeop of the national baseball team hit a two-run homer in a Mar. 5 game against Japan in the World Baseball Classic.

Lee Byung-hun will be the first Korean celebrity to hold a private event in the ballpark. The organizers expect that about 50,000 fans will flock to the upcoming gathering.

A task force has already been in organizing the event since January. A Japanese producer, Yasis Akimoto, will take charge of its production.
