Singer Lee Seung-chul to Release Eighth Album

2006, May 22

Singer Lee Seung-chul said that he will release his eighth regular album in September two years after releasing his seventh album in 2004. He released a remake album of his previous hit songs last year to mark the 20th anniversary of his debut.

The plan was revealed during his interview with Yonhap News at a music festival entitled “Simply the Best 2006” and hosted by ING Life Insurance where he fascinated the audience with songs such as “The Nymph of Shampoo” and “A Long Day.”

In the first half of the year, he has focused on promoting his songs abroad. He made his Japanese debut by releasing the single album “Sayonara” in the island country in February. The song was used as a theme song of the Japanese drama “Rondo” starring Korean actress Choi Ji-woo and Japanese actor Takenouchi Yutaka, which marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Japanese broadcaster TBS. The song took 16th place on the Orion Daily Single Chart on the day it was released.

Afterwards, he gave solo concerts in Chicago, New York, Washington and Los Angeles, with all tickets sold out.

“I will travel to Germany in June and present concerts in San Francisco and Vancouver in August. I decided to give concerts in the two cities as I have received a rush of requests for concerts since my U.S performances in March,” Lee said

He plans to tour Korea beginning the second week of September.
