The Korean animation "My Beautiful Girl, Mari" directed by Lee Sung-gang will be shown on Japanese broadcaster NHK. The animation is scheduled to be aired on June 9 at 11:00 p.m. on NHK’s satellite channel BS-HI.

The animation is the only Korean film among the foreign films that the Japanese broadcaster has selected to show its viewers.

"My Beautiful Girl, Mari" was released in Japanese theaters last August under the title of "The Summer Spent with Mari," and it drew attention because Lee Byung-hun, one of the most famous Korean stars leading the Korean Wave in Japan, lent his voice to the leading character.

The film won the top prize at the Korea Animation Festival and Grand Prix in feature films at the Annecy International Animation Festival in 2002.
