Top 20 - July week 2

Not a lot of changes in the top 8 songs this week. Shinhwa’s “Once in a Lifetime” barely held on to the top spot, edging out Superjunior’s “U” by 15 points. The two new entrants to the top 10 are new singers in 2006. See Ya scores their 3rd top 10 songs “구두” (Slipper) from their debut album. They are the early favorite to win the best new artist of the year. But even stronger this week is the first hit song by Typhoon. Their debut hit “그래서…” (So) jump 7 spots to No. 9 this week. Their kind of dance music not only reminds us of Koyote, but also old school k-pop.

2 new songs enter the chart this week. Leading the way is Tim’s “하루새” (In One Day). Even though his long awaited 3rd album is not received as well as his last album in terms of both sales and song popularity, he finally made it into our top 20 this week.

The other new song is Jung Jae Wook’s “들리나요” (Can you hear?). It is the title song from his 4th album, but his first ever top 20 hit. This song is written by the hot songwriting duo Cho Young Soo and Ahn Young Min, who produce for SG Wannabe and See Ya. They certainly help boosted the popularity of this song.
