BIOGRAPHY

I usually introduce newer or underrated artists in this segment. This week, I’ll feature a very popular group Buzz. They are a rock group targeting at the pop audience. Rock ballads are their speciality. The smooth voice of good looking lead singer Min Kyung Hoon has captured a lot of female fans’ hearts in Korea and around the world.

Buzz debuted back in 2003. They were featured in Yoon Do Hyun Band’s concert held in Ulsan in October 2003. Their talents have raised eyebrows from fans and critics. Soon after, they released their first album "Morning of Buzz". The title song "어쩌면… " (May Be) made it to the top 10 in most charts.

Last year, they released their 2nd album "Effect" and was a major breakthrough album. This album sold more than 200,000 copies and produced 2 No. 1 songs "Coward" and "Thorn", and a No. 2 song "A Trip to Discover Myself". Rarely a k-pop album produces 3 mega hit songs. In 2005’s "Soompi Gayo DaeSang Award Show", Buzz Vol. 2 was named "2005 Album of the Year", and Buzz also won our "Group Artist of the Year".

In May 2006, they released their 3rd album. Given their skyrocketing success of the last album, fans have great expectations. This album came out of the gate slowly, but both the sales and song popularity has picked up now. Their title song "남자를 몰라" (Doesn’t know a man’s heart) again hit No. 1, proving that Buzz is one of the top group in k-pop now.
