Singer Lee An will have a chance to test her acting ability in the joint Korean-Japanese play “Whale Island,” which will be performed on Sept. 21 in Busan and from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 in Seoul. The production will tour Japan from Oct. 18.

Under the theme of coexistence between human beings and nature, the play deals with relationships between mother and baby whales that are more intimate than even those of human beings.

Lee will play three characters in the play. “I was offered a chance to act. I performed in a musical in the past, but this is the first time I will act in a play,” Lee said. “But there is a scene where I sing a song, so I will also display my singing ability as well.”
