Top 20 - October week 4
Koyote scored another No. 1 song, with "I Love Rock & Roll" moving up from No. 2 last week and exchanging spots with Lee Seung Ki’s "제발" (Please). Even though Koyote had many No. 1 songs over the years, "I Love Rock & Roll" was their first No. 1 song since 2004 when "불꽃" (Sparks) from their sixth album hit No. 1. Son Ho Young’s "운다" (Crying) remained third this week.

We have two big movers this week – Lee Seung Chul’s "소리쳐" (Screaming) and DBSG’s "오-정반합" (O – Union) both moved up 10 spots to fourth and fifth respectively. Although Lee Seung Chul still hasn’t come out to perform this song on any gayo shows yet, his song remains well accepted. DBSG are the opposite, we have been seeing them everywhere these days. Both songs are expected to be in the top three and challange for the top spot next week.

Half of the songs in the top 20 are falling this week, but we do have four new songs in the chart. The highest debut is at No. 13, MC Mong’s "아이스크림" (Ice-Cream). MC Mong recently released his third album. Once again, his hip-hop songs are very pop-oriented. Singers like Lisa of M-Flo, Park Hyo Shin, Maybee, and Ivy are featured in this new album.

Coming in at No. 14 is the latest hit from the prince of ballad Sung Shi Kyung. His new song "거리에서" (On The Street) is a very smooth ballad, written by singer-songwriter Yoon Jong Shin. The melody is fairly easy to remember. The music video of this song was shot in Shibuya, Tokyo with Japanese actress Okura Erika. I’m sure this song will be another chart-topping hit for Sung Shi Kyung.

A highly-recommended song at No. 16 is ERU’s "까만안경" (Black Glasses). I think this is the best ballad song I’ve heard all year. The song featured female singer Daylight, from the group of the same name. However, We’ve seen ERU performing this song with Bae Seul Ki on gayo shows. It is a very well written and arranged song. The female voice featured at the end added some sugar and spice to the song. Let see if this song will become ERU’s first big hit.

The last debut song at No. 20 is Hong Kyung Min’s "사랑,참…" (A Thing Called Love). Hong Kyung Min is one of the few singers in Korea who is promoting both up-tempo and ballad songs each album. This time it is a ballad, perhaps more suitable for winter months. The song reminds us of his ballad "To My Friends" from his sixth album.
