Weekly Music Chart 2007 - January week 3

Summary for January week 3 chart:

No. 1 song: Brian’s "가지마" (Don’t Go) remains No. 1 for the 2nd week in a row, holding off another challenger moving from No. 19 in the previous week – ERU’s "흰눈" (White Snow). The song’s score also improves from 702 last week to 806 this week, and is looking strong to stay in No. 1 for another week. But the competition is very strong.

Co-Biggest Movers of the week: There are 2 songs moving up 17 spots this week. As mentioned above, ERU’s "흰눈" (White Snow) is one of the songs. This "made for winter" song has matched the No. 2 spot on his previous hit "까만안경" (Black Glasses), and is moving up much faster, definitely a threat to challange Brian for the top spot next week.

The other song moving up 17 spots is Battle’s debut song "Crash", from No. 31 to No. 14. The highly anticipated new boy band finally get their breaks this week, with more appearance on music shows, they are gaining more fans each week.

Hot shot debut: Big Bang’s "Dirty Cash" finally made it into our chart this week at No. 26, replacing "Goodbye Baby". This is the title song from their first official full album. Big Bang has released 3 singles prior to this album with huge success. This song should be moving up the charts fast.

New songs: A relatively quiet week in terms of new songs, we only have 3 brand new songs and 1 re-entry in the top 50. That’s typical for the beginning of the year.

Songs to watch out:

3. The Nuts – 잔소리 (Scolded) – After a disappointing week in which they stay put at No. 12, this song moves up 9 big spots to No. 3 this week, and its score is not far away from the No. 1 song. Count on this song to be part of the No. 1 battle next week.
5. Kim Ah Joong – MARIA (from movie 200 Pounds Beauty) – As expected, this song is in the top 10 now. With the movie going over 5 million in attendance, and the soundtrack also recording good sales numbers, the only thing missing is whether Kim Ah Joong will come out to perform this song. If she does, this is a potential No. 1 song.
7. Lee Seung Chul – 하얀새 (White Bird) – Just like "Scolded" from The Nuts, this song has a disappointed showing last week, but rebounded big time this week by moving up 13 spots to No. 7. Lee Seung Chul’s 8th album "Reflection of Sound" is still a top 10 seller in the album sales chart, it should help this song to move further up.
13. Shin Hye Sung & Lyn – 사랑후에 (After Love) – This song certainly doesn’t suffer in its 2nd week on the chart, moving up 13 spots this week to No. 13. A good winter song with an all-star collobration and we should see them in the top 10 next week.
32. KCM – 안녕 (Goodbye) – A new digital single by KCM. Again, he teams up with Cho Young Soo and Ahn Young Min on this song. But it is different from previous KCM songs which was more emotional. This ballad is a smooth one from beginning to end.

YesAsia: Featured on Brain’s first solo album "The Brian". This song is an R&B ballad that reminds us of many hits from Fly To The Sky. The vocalist’s experience in performing smooth ballads and beat-filled numbers comes in handy on this highly anticipated release which is heavy on acoustic sounds.

Arirang TV: Featured on The Nuts’ second album titled "WHISPERS OF LOVE," this ballad song with poignant lyrics comes after a two-year hiatus. Actor Ji Hyun-woo plays the guitar in this rock-band. The song is about the heartache of love and separation. All the memories of love is like getting a scolding while feeling sorry for a love that will soon be forgotten.
