Weekly Music Chart 2007 - March week 3

No. 1 song: Lee Ki Chan's "미인" (A Beauty) strengthened its hold on to the top spot for the 2nd week despite a little decrease in score. His newest challenger now is Park Hyo Shin's "추억은 사랑을 닮아" (Memories resemble love), which moves up 1 spot to No. 2. Park Hyo Shin's album finally tops the Hanteo weekly sales chart, and it should help his song to gain ground on Lee Ki Chan next week.

Biggest Mover of the week: The honor goes to Hyun Jin Young's "소리쳐봐" (Break Me Down), which moves back up from No. 45 to No. 29. But I think this is only a one week adjustment, as this song has been out for a long time and is moving up and down from week to week.

Hot shot debut: T's (Tasha) "잊었니" (Did you forget?) debuts at No. 13 this week. T came back with her 3rd album recently after almost 3 years of absence from the music scene. T is very versatile on her music from R&B to hip-hop. This song is a safer type of R&B ballad which should generate more mainstream interest.

New songs: We have 9 new songs and 3 re-entries in the top 50 this week.

Songs to watch out:

5. Ivy – 유혹의 소나타 (Temptation of Sonata) – Up 4 spots into the top 5 this week. Each time I watched her performing this song I felt more impressed with her. The cheorgraphy is amazing. Ivy is looking for her first No. 1 song and I think she has a chance.

17. Big Bang – 흔들어 (Shake It) – This song replaces "Dirty Cash" and debuts at No. 17 this week. With their skyrocketing popularity, Big Bang is destined to have another top 10 hit.

18. Superjunior-T – 로꾸거 (Ro Ggu Guh) – I have predicted this song to be the biggest mover. Instead, they are the 2nd biggest mover, up 14 spots to No. 18. For sure, they have created even more interest for trot music among young people in Korea.

21. Jang Nara – 사랑부르기 (Calling Out Love) – I've been waiting for this song to enter the chart and it is finally here this week. Jang Nara finally returns to Korea for her 5th album after successfully launching her career in China. This song really shows that she has matured a lot, both on her image and her vocal skills. Two years ago, I wouldn't think she's able to handle the difficult chorus part on this song. But after a few live performances, she has shown us that she's improved a lot.

26. Lee Hyori – 톡톡톡 (Toc Toc Toc) – From Hyori's single album with 3 songs, and each song is of different style and have received equal attention. This is the dance song that we are familiar with Hyori. But don't be surprised to see another song "그녀를 사랑하지 마" which is R&B type replacing this song next week. Looks like she has decided to go with that song as her title song instead of this one.

35. Cha Tae Hyun – 이차선 다리 (Two Laned Bridge) – Title song from Cha Tae Hyun's own hit movie "복면달호" in which he became a trot singer (I can't wait to watch it!). Indeed, this song is half trot and half pop style. It's already the 2nd movie OST song to enter our chart this year (Kim Ah Joong's "Maria" is the first one). We had none last year.

38. Hwang Bo – 눈물도미안해서 (Sorry for tears) – Former Charka member Hwang Bo comes back as a soloist with a completely different style – ballad. This is a sad ballad song that fits Hwang Bo's voice perfectly. Let see if she will gain popularity as many other former girl group members did the past 2 years.

46. MC Sniper (feat. Yuri) – 봄이여 오라 (Oh Spring, Come) – MC Sniper released his long awaited 4th album and is already topping the album sales chart. He does not have too much mainstream success in the past, but this song may well be his biggest hit as it already entered our chart on the 1st week of release.
