Weekly Music Chart 2007 - April week 2

No. 1 song: Ivy remains No. 1 for the 4th week in a row with "유혹의 소나타" (Temptation of Sonata). With Lee Ki Chan already switching to a new song on some of the charts, Ivy doesn't have a lot of competition for the top spot. This week she leads Park Hyo Shin's No. 2 song "추억은 사랑을 닮아" (Memories resemble love) for 90 points. Ivy may be staying on the top for another few weeks until SG Wannabe's new song enters the chart.

Biggest Mover of the week: Not a lot of movement this week. The Nuts' "내 사람입니다" (This is My Person) rebounded 18 spots to No. 32. This song fell to the bottom of the chart last week, and this should only be a temporary adjustment.

Hot shot debut: Chae Yeon's "My Love" is our highest debut at No. 29 this week. Chae Yeon is one of the fastest rising sexy queen in Korea. She recently released her 4th album. "My Love" reminds us of disco songs in the 80s and 90s. Chae Yeon made progress in both sales and song propularity each of her first 3 albums. Let see if she continues to move upward for this song.

Songs to watch out:

7. Kim Gun Mo – 허수아비 (Scarecrow) – Last week's hot shot debut moves into the top 10 this week. It's safe to say that Kim Gun Mo has ended a "mini-slump" with a return to the top 10. His last 2 albums did not produce a top 10 hit despite the usual high quality of music. This time he is returning to prominance.

26. Lee Seung Chul – 시계 (Watch) – This song appears on 2 dirrerent CDs: it was first recorded on Lee Seung Chul's 8th album "Reflection of Sound" which was released last year. Also, it appeared on a more recent release "Sound of Double + Live" which was a 2 CD repackage of Lee Seung Chul's 8th album plus live concert cuts. This rock ballad is already the 4th single from Lee Seung Chul's 8th album. Check it out if you don't have it yet.

30. Rumble Fish – Smile Again – Modern Rock group comes back with their 3rd album "Open The Safe". In terms of song popularities, Rumble Fish has quietly become the top modern rock band in Korea in the last 2 years, even more so than Loveholic, with top 5 hits "으라차차" and "I Go". This rock song should be another hit for the co-ed trio.

37. IV COS – 죽어도 갖지 못할 사랑 (The Love That I Will Never Be Able To Get) – This new male R&B trio reminds us of SG Wannabe with their ballads. The album is a top 10 seller without much promotions. Recently they started appearing on gayo shows. Check them out if you haven't.

Through the language of lyrics, this piece communicates the sadness and pain of having to send off someone who wants to leave. The music video tells the story, in omnibus-drama fashion, of three people who have each experienced separation.

She combines conventional soul with mainstream R&B. With her trademark mid-to-deep, husky voice, she sings about painful love memories that anyone can relate to.

Arirang TV: This is the title song for Seo In-young's first album, "Elly Is So Hot." It was written and composed by hip-hop group Uptown's leader, Jung Yun-joon. Seo In-young, a former member of the girl-group Jewelery, presents a track that effectively mixes Latin hip-hop and simple R&B melodies while enhancing the performance of a rhythmical acoustic guitar. The music video was directed by the man known as BoA's brother, Director Kwon Soon-wook.

It's a touching love story about beautifully embracing the scars caused by a breakup. Recording the song took a reported 10 hours, as the artiste performed the chorus herself as well, displaying unending passion. The piece displays a matured Jang Nara.
