Weekly Music Chart 2007 - May week 3

No. 1 song: After scoring a perfect 1000 points last week, SG Wannabe's "아리랑" (Arirang) remains No. 1 for the 4th straight week. But the score has dropped back to 915 points this week, and the No. 2 song MC The Max's "가슴아 그만해" (My Heart Cannot Go On Like This Any Longer). Looks like this will be the final week that "Airrang" will be No. 1. Another song of SG Wannabe (featuring Ok Ju Hyun) "한여름날의꿈" is starting to gain points.

Biggest Mover of the week: Turtles' "한동안뜸했었지" (It's been a long time) moves up 23 spots to No. 16 this week. Before releasing their new album this summer, Turtles warm us up with a remake single album. This song is originally from rock group 사랑과 평화 (Love and Peace) in 1978. Turtle added its trademark Miami sound and mood to the original, including a new melody and lyrics, reviving the song as a fun dance track.

Hot shot debut: Byul's "미워도좋아" (Don't care if you hate it) is our highest debut at No. 10 this week. Byul is getting more and more mature on each album – both her image and music. This sad ballad again have the kind of "story telling" melody and lyrics that we are familiar with Byul.

New songs: We have 10 new songs this week.

Songs to watch out:

2. MC The Max – 가슴아 그만해 (My Heart Cannot Go On Like This Any Longer) – Like all the album title songs, this rock ballad song is headed to a familar spot – No. 1, and will have a good chance to get there next week.

3. Lexy (feat. Ji Eun) – 하늘위로 (Up to the sky) – Lexy is looking for her first No. 1 song. This song is only 7 points behind MC The Max. It also features YG newcomer Ji Eun, who recently released her own solo album.

4. Ivy – 이럴거면 (If it is like this) – Ivy is looking for her 2nd straight No. 1 song this album. This emotional ballad is already No. 1 on MNet's M!Countdown. It will be a hot battle between the top 4 songs for No. 1 next week.

8. Lee Juck – 다행이다 (To be fortunate) – Lee Juck returned to the top 10 for the first time since 2003 (excluding his hit with Panic last year). This song is a vintage rock ballad style song that we are familiar with Lee Juck. His album has been top 10 in sales since release.

13. Nam Gyu Ri – 깊은밤을날아서 (Flying Into Deep Night) – Up another 11 spots this week, Nam Gyu Ri is looking for her own first top 10 song with a remake of a song originally by Lee Moon Sae. This song is probably one of the shortest songs I've seen in a while – it only lasted 2 minutes.

18. Kara – Break it – So many people thought this song won't make the top 20 after it started falling last week, but here they are! These 4 girls, known as FINKL II, finally got their break this week and I am sure a lot of Kara fans are happy.

19. Viva Soul (feat. Ha Dong Kyun) – Cry – 2nd biggest mover this week, up 18 spots to No. 19. I recalled Viva Soul's first album had a song that barely made the top 20. This commercial hip-hop song is going to do a lot better and have the potential to be a top 10 song.

35. T – 검은 행복 (Black Happiness) – This song replaced her top 10 hit "잊었니" (Did you forget?). It is a much more hardcore hip-hop style R&B song which was T's best kind of music. We hear a lot more rapping from T on this song.

37. Lee Hyori – 잔소리 (Scolded) – Toc Toc Toc is off the chart this week and its replacement gives us a totally different style of Lee Hyori. Perhaps it is the first time we hear Hyori performed a solo ballad after her FINKL days. The lyrics of this song is written by famous MV director Cha Eun Teuk, who also wrote the lyrics of Baek Ji Young's big hit "I Won't Love" last year.

39. Chun Sang Ji Hee The Grace – 한번 더 OK? (One More Time OK?) – CSJH The Grace has debuted for nearly 2 years, but this is the title song of their official first full album. They've been releasing singles prior to this and with many hits already. They haven't hit the top 10 or top 20 yet, but this up-tempo dance song have a good chance.

45. Paran – 그녀와 난 (Her and I) – Paran is releasing a new single album with 4 songs this week, and this is the title song. It showcases Paran's musical transformation with an 80's pop sound, easy melody and unique charm. You can also check out Paran's retro moves and fashions in the music video.
