Weekly Music Chart 2007 - June week 4

No. 1 song: Yangpa held on to the top spot for the 2nd week with "사랑…그게 뭔데" (Love…What Is That?). This song is also No. 1 on MNet’s M!Countdown this week. Yangpa beats out 2 strong challengers in See Ya and SG Wannabe. All top 3 songs scored 900 or more points this week, which is very rare.

Biggest Mover of the week: Dynamic Duo (feat. Naul)’s “출첵” (Attendance Checkup) makes an expected big jump this week, moving up 18 spots to No. 9. This week their album sales score starts to count, and they had the top selling album, plus they are starting to promote this song on gayo shows. Therefore the big move is not a surprise.

Hot shot debut: Battle’s “말해” (Tell Me) is our highest debut this week at No. 16. This is the title song of their 2nd single album, which had decent sales numbers to support. This mid-tempo song is about a man who is hesitant about confessing his love and a woman telling him to just say the words. With cute lyrics, a lively beat and a fun melody, this love song fits perfectly with Battle's bright and fresh image.

Songs to watch out:

4. Lee Ssang (feat. ALI) 발레리노 (Ballerino) – After staying put at No. 10 last week, this song moves up 6 spots to No. 4. As I mentioned last week, Lee Ssang is starting to perform and we are seeing him on almost every gayo shows, it will definitely help this song to move up further.

20. Ivy – Cupido – Ivy is generating hit after hit. This is already the 3rd single from her highly successful 2nd album, replacing “이럴거면” (If it is like this). Ivy is going back to a dance song this time. Unlike her No. 1 song “Temptation of Sonata”, this song is more of a cute type dance song, which fits the summer season perfectly. Let see if this song can be another top 5 hit for Ivy.

21. Oh Jong Hyuk – 사랑이그래요 (Love is like that) – Oh Jong Hyuk joined Evan as ex-Click B members on the chart. Oh Jong Hyuk actually was the first to release an album, with the top 10 song “죽을만큼…”(Deadly) last year. This new song is a digital single, written by singer The Name, and lyrics by Wheesung. The music video is the painful love-and-separation story of a guy who wants to erase all the painful memories following a break-up.

22. Tony An (feat. SAT) – Melody – A very commercial pop song with Tony’s rapping and singing, and SAT on the chorus part. The music video, which stars the artist, shows characters on the phone in two time periods – 1960 and 2007.

26. Clazziquai – Lover Boy – Title song of Clazziquai’s highly anticipated 3rd album. Clazziquai’s music is always unique, with a mix of jazz, pop, and rock. This song was influenced by the new wave genre of the 80s, this electronica-infused track features a great vocal pairing between the sexy-sounding Horan and romantic-crooner Alex.

39. J (feat. Lee Jung) – 눈물로 (with tears) – J is back with another duet after last year’s “Perhaps Love” with Howl. This time Lee Jung is the male counterpart. This song has a smooth melody and is sung with J's soft and affectionate voice. It is about someone having to forget another person through tears.

47. Danny Ahn (feat. Sweet Sorrow) – 꿈이었으면 (If this were a dream) – G.O.D. member Danny Ahn released his first solo single. As usual, Danny is doing the rapping, the singing part featured Sweet Sorrow. The sad love song is about a guy who wishes his break-up were a dream. It's a remake of the Japanese group Chemistry's 'Your Name Never Gone'
