Weekly Music Chart 2007 - December week 3

No. 1 song: Fans are wondering why Big Bang’s new song "마지막인사" (Last Greeting) is still not in the chart. Here it is this week, debuting all the way at No. 1. In doing so, this song becomes only the 2nd song to ever debut at No. 1 on this chart. The other song was Tei’s "사랑은하나다" (Love Is…The One) back in 2005 when the chart only had 20 songs. This song also leapfrogged other 2 challengers: SNSD’s "소녀시대" (Girls Generation) and Park Jin Young’s "니가사는그집" (The house you lived in); both were believed to be strong contenders for No. 1 this week.

Biggest Mover of the week: Due to M!Coundown resuming after a few weeks, many songs which went down weeks ago are moving up again. Lee Seung Hwan’s "내맘이안그래" (My Heart Isn’t Like That) is one of these songs, moving up 17 spots now to No. 14. The song had reached No. 20 two weeks ago and now this week it is on its highest spot.

Hot shot debut: Of course, it is also the No. 1 song – Big Bang’s ""마지막인사" (Last Greeting)".

New songs: Another active week, we have 11 new songs this week, including the No. 1 song, and also 1 re-entry.

Songs to watch out:

6. Eun Ji Won (feat. Mr. Tyfoon) – Adios – Another song that is moving up again, and this song might have received a boost when Eun Ji Won performed with J-Walk on several occasions. Both were ex-Sechskies members. J-Walk’s song "여우비" (Light Rain) is also moving up again this week after it appeared to be on its way out of the top 20.

10. SG Wannabe – 첫눈 (First Snow) – Fresh off winning the DaeSang in the Golden Disk Award, the trio are back on the chart with their latest hit from their special album "Story in New York 2008". In any other week, it would have been the hot shot debut. Unlike their 4th album activities, SG Wannabe are not really heavily promoting this song so far. Even so, with their popularity now, any song is a potential No. 1 hit. Again, they are teaming up with Cho Young Soo and Ahn Young Min for this song.

27. Voice One – 니가내린다 (You are bringing it down) – Voice One is a project group led by Jang Hye Jin and her students Monday Kiz and Ilak, all pretty big names in k-pop today. They already released a single last winter. This ballad’s poetic lyrics are about crying after seeing the snow that fell one fateful night.

32. Anyband – Promise You – Many fans like this song more than TPL (Talk Play Love), which was on the chart briefly for the last 2 weeks. The project group features BoA, Xiah, Jin Bora and Tablo. Let’s see if this song can make it to the top 20. TPL was at No. 21 for 2 weeks.

35. Wheesung – 다쳐도 좋아 (It’s okay if I get hurt) – 2nd single from Wheesung’s 5th album "Eternal Essence of Music". After plugging an up-tempo song, Wheesung is returning to a familiar R&B ballad this time. The music video of the song was made with footage from the movie, "Lust, Caution."

44. Kim Mi Ryeo – 나를 만나다 (Meet Myself) – Popular comedian Kim Mi Ryeo is becoming a singer, and she released a mini-album with the same title "Meet Myself". She appeared in a lot of TV shows, most notably MBC’s "Unlimited High Kick". This is a fun beat rock song that boasts a musical-resembling arrangement. Let’s see if it kick-starts her singing career.
