Baek Chan debuted in 2007 as the rapper of the group 8eight after winning on MBC’s talent show, "Show Vival." With a mixture of both female and male vocals as well as rap, the group showed styles comparable to the American hip-hop group, Black Eyed Peas. Late last year Baek Chan
released his first solo single, "The Analogueman In the Digital World," which consists of three great numbers. Through this album, Baek Chan is able to show yet another side of him.

The album starts off with "What Kind of Love Is This," which is a sad ballad accompanied by guitar and harmonica arrangements. Baek Chan is able to show off his singing talent in this song. His vocals are high yet soothing, harmonizing well with the vocals of veteran singer, Lee Soo Young. Although the song seems a bit generic for my tastes, the song is still worth a listen.

The next track "Analogueman" is my favorite from the album. It is a medium tempo song where Baek Chan is able to show off his rap skills. The lyrics are penned by the artist himself, as the song retells a bit of Baek Chan’s younger years as well as his passion for singing. "Analogueman" is very mellow and is great for easy listening. The last song is "Loving Someone Who is Not Suitable For Me," a ballad composed and penned by Baek Chan himself. Starting off with piano accompaniment and soft vocals, it reminded me of something Tim might sing. The song is very calming and one I think many will enjoy.

I must say that this album was pretty well done. Through this solo project, fans are not only able to only hear Baek Chan’s passionate singing not shown through 8eight, but also get a taste of his composition skills. Not to forget Baek Chan’s rapping skills, there is also Analogueman which showcases what the artist is originally known for. I guess the only regretful thing about this album is the lack of songs.
