Monthly Top 10 K-pop Album Sales: February 2008
Hanteo Monthly Sales Information:
For the second month of the year, Kim Dong Ryul has yet to slide from his position. He is still going on strong and has a lead of 8,000 copies over Sweet Sorrow, who are in second spot and are known for their numerous soundtrack hits. In third spot, we have a group that seem to never leave the charts. Big Bang are holding strong with their new live album and their second mini-album (#5) released late last year. It’s surprising to see the group still charting so well with the release since it is quite old. Another group that can’t get off the charts is So Nyuh Shi Dae, who released their smash album in early November last year. It wouldn’t be surprising to see sales of the album climb even higher as they have scheduled a repackaged version to be released quite soon.
Jewelry have made quite a comeback, with their song, One More Time, already steaming up the charts. At 7 is Davichi, a relatively new group who have been getting quite a lot of attention due to their high-budget music video starring Lee Hyori and Lee Mi Yeon. After a long wait, SS501 fans will be happy with the boyband’s brand new single. They have been away for quite a while promoting in Japan, so hopefully they haven’t been totally forgotten. Gummy’s new album is cooking up a storm and will probably gain more sales as the principal track becomes more heavily promoted. Lastly, Ha Dong Kyun of Wanted is still hitting the charts. The promotional track for his album, Butterfly, has been steadily climbing the charts.
