BIOGRAPHY

For our featured artiste of this week, we have the five-member female vocal group KARA. Made up of members Han Seung-yeon, Nicole Jung, Kang Ji-young, Park Kyu-ri and Ku Ha-ra, Kara returned this summer with two new members. The group, originally made up of four members, made their debut in March 2007 with their first studio album, ‘Break It’, which featured funky and upbeat dance songs.

The group said goodbye to their original member Kim Sung-hee in October last year and welcomed new members Ku Ha-ra and Kang Ji-young. They released their second “mini” album entitled “Rock U” on Aug 1. The title track in this five-track release is "Rock U", a dance song that promises to push Kara’s career to the next level with its enchanting melodious beats. "Rock U" becomes the group’s first ever top-10 hit.

When they first debuted as a four-member group, Kara were labelled as the next FINKL since both groups are from DSP Entertainment. Now Kara are a five-member group that have established a name for themselves.
