Comment: Davichi hold on to the No. 1 spot with "8282".  This song was composed by Korea’s top lyricist and composer, Kang Eun Kyung and Kim Do Hoon. The song is about the anxiety one gets while waiting for the call of a loved one. The melody starts out like a ballad but turns into an up-tempo song in the chorus part.  It has trendy trance rhythms with powerful vocals from the girls.  Let’s see if Davichi have enough to hold off Super Junior’s "Sorry, Sorry" next week.

2. (+3) Super Junior – Sorry Sorry
Score: 926
Genre: Pop / Dance

SuperJunior3Music + Lyrics: Yoo Young Jin
Album: Super Junior Vol. 3 Track 1 Purchase this album
Watch: MV Live Performance
Comment: Moving up to No. 2 in just 3 weeks is Super Junior’s "Sorry Sorry" coming from their 3rd album.  The group has not been performing together for a while since they were busy having sub-group activities like Super Junior Happy, Super Junior T, Super Junior M and Super Junior KRY.  Now all 13 members are finally re-united on stage.  "Sorry Sorry" is a catchy urban house dance number and the group especially worked with renowned choreographer Nick Bass, who has collaborated with Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, and Christina Aguilera.  Already winning twice as Inky Gayo’s Mutizen song, "Sorry Sorry" will be the favorite to take over as the No. 1 song on our chart next week.

Comment: Veteran Lim Chang Jung hasn’t lost a bit of his chart magic despite his inactivity in the music scene for 6 years.  His latest hit "It’s Been A Long Time" jumped 9 spots to No. 3 in just its second week on the chart.  This well-made ballad number is about a man who has reunited with his lover, but sadly has trouble approaching her.  Fans once again hear Lim Chang Jung’s trademark emotional vocal.  The younger generation of k-pop fans who have not heard of Lim’s songs should definitely check it out.

YESTERDAY ONCE MORE:
Turbo – 검은 고양이 (Black Cat)

Album: Turbo Vol. 1 "280km/h Speed" (1995) Track 4
Watch: MV Live Performance
Comment: Turbo (터보) was a Korean duo very popular during their days. Turbo stood out for covering many genres of music and for the high-pitched voice of Kim Jong Kook, who has gone solo. First formed in 1994, the leader DJ Kim Jung Nam rapped and choreographed while Kim Jong Kook took the vocals. Mikey later joined the group as rapper and replaced Kim Jung Nam.  Black Cat is the fourth track from their first album 280 Km/h Speed. This is the song that put Turbo on the music map.  All of Turbo’s albums sold more than one million copies, a figure we can only dream of in these days.  After their breakup, Kim Jong Kook went on to become one of the most popular Korean male vocalists.
