Maydoni, who garnered much interest from netizens ever since she came out on a talent search show in 2001, has finally released her own mini album titled 7teen. With the album, named after her young yet tender age, Maydoni shows off her powerful vocals that people praise her for.
Included in the album are three singles along with accompanying instrumentals and remixes.

The album starts off with a dance track, "ID" (I’m Maydoni). With strong electronic beats, Maydoni showcases her powerful vocals. The song was composed and penned by Yoon Il Sang and Jo PD (PDIS) respectively who she worked with previously for the song "Drag." I feel that this song was a perfect introduction to her album as it not only talked about her own dreams but definitely shined her vocal skills despite it being an upbeat number.

Following "ID" is title track, "Mola-ing," which features rising boy group, 2AM. This medium tempo dance track is pretty mellow with good vocals. However, I did not see anything special in it; it is definitely not title track worthy. Those who prefer for upbeat sounds can try the IS remix version of the song which incorporates funkier beats and sounds.

The last song on the album is "Like the First Time," which is a ballad with beautiful
orchestral accompaniment mixed with electronica sounds. Maydoni also shows off her rapping skills in addition to her strong vocals. However, this song was once again mediocre and too generic to my tastes.

Overall, I felt that this debut album failed to do Maydoni justice. Sure Maydoni had no problem showing off her voice; however, the songs weren’t anything special, thus making me easily bored of the songs.
