Q&A with Our Music Man: edward1849

Edward1849 is the moderator of our korean music and sports forums. You may also recognize him as the
creator of the Soompi weekly K-Pop music chart. He coordinates
with other music staff members on
artist of the week, new albums/singles releases, under the radar
artists, album reviews, and the year-end Soompi Gayo awards. Originally
from Hong Kong, Edward now resides in Vancouver.

How long have you been a member of Soompi?
Since
2000, but I wasn’t really an active member until 2002. I started liking K-Pop in 2000. I searched the Internet and found this site. The rest is
history. smile.gif

What Asian cultural tradition would you like to pass on to future generations?
The hard-working, dedicated tradition of most Asian culture is what I like to pass to future generations.

What are your favorite activities and hobbies?
Listening to K-Pop, watching k-dramas & movies, playing bridge.

If you go to Karaoke, what song do you have to sing?
I
am not a good singer and I haven’t been to Karaoke for ages. Besides,
my Korean is very limited. But there are two K-Pop songs that I think
fits my voice and I’ve been trying to sing: UN’s 선물 and Paran’s 습관처럼.
Hopefully one day I can master these two songs.

Favorite travel destination
Sydney, Australia is my favorite city. In North America, San Francisco (yay! soompi HQ) and San Diego.

What superpower would you like to have?
Turn
back the clock. There are a lot of things in life that I think I should
have and would have done better if I can do it all over again.

What would be an exciting day for you?
watching any Han Hyo Joo dramas. Just kidding… don’t put this as answer.
Real
answer: I’m a boring person. So I think if I can make use of my time
and finish everything I want to do that day it will be an exciting day
for me.
