BIOGRAPHY
For this week, Soompi featured the female trio Gavy N.J. They have musical styles range from R&B, pop ballad, blues and disco. Displaying a perfect balance between musicality and popularity, the female trio is expected to grow as one of the female vocalist bands that will lead the local pop musical industry in the next generation. The name of the band “Gavy n.j.” comes from 歌妃, meaning ‘queen of music.’ N.j. is the combination of abbreviations for the last names of the trio.

The title song of the album is “Happiness” in which the characteristic of the band’s music is well expressed. The song starts with a melody of a very low key but ends with a powerful voice. They have released three album and few singles before Jeong Hye Min opted out from the group. Her place been replaced by Misty, who has written many songs for the popular Korean duo, Davichi.

Gavy NJ returns with Side B of their fourth album, Sunflower this year. It was produced by Min Myung Ki and the members all took part in penning the lyrics to the songs. There are a total of six new songs and two instrumentals, the title track being “Sunflower” which features Sunny Side MJ. The song was composed by Min Myung Ki and penned by Gavy NJ lead vocalist, Jang Hee Young, is about looking at the person one breaks up with and is not saddened about it; instead he or she is waiting confidently.

Noh Si Hyun, haveing been hit by the H1N1 virus, caused this album to be delayed. During that thime the group received gets support from idol group members for their comeback performances. They will be performing not only with MJ who is featured originally in the song, but also with other idol group members from MBLAQ, BEAST etc for their performances. They said that, “It is great support since it’s been a long time since we have been promoting.”
