BIOGRAPHY
For this week, Soompi featured 2AM. The group that consisted four vocally talented boys formed by Jo Kwon, Im Seul ong, Jung Jin Woon, and Lee Chang Min. They are the proteges of Park Jin Young. Before their debut, they already have a impressive fan base due to  their earlier Mnet reality show Hot Blood in which they competed along with the members of Park’s other creation, 2PM, for the chance to debut. While 2PM is a dance group, 2AM’s forte is singing, and the four boys’ years of training ring out clearly in their mature voices and strong harmony.

Their debut single “This Song” is a heartbreaking ballad that confirms 2AM’s vocal talents. After that they had a digital single, Sweater that is duet of Chang Min and Jo Kwon. 2AM also released the second single produced by Park Jin Young again with the track “A Friend’s Confession”.

Known for their comedic personalities on variety programs, popular JYP vocal group 2AM put aside the gags for ballads with their highly anticipated new mini-album. The group collaborated for the first time with singer-songwriter Bang Si Hyuk, who produced all six tracks of the album and composed the heart-melting title song “Can’t Let You Go Even If I Die”. 2AM’s new album also includes the sweet, upbeat R&B tune “I Love You” featuring 8eight’s Baek Chan and Joo Hee, and the moody electronic number “To Her” featuring rap by 2PM label-mate Chan Sung.

They won their first ever Mutizen award on SBS Inkigayo for this song. This song is popular in internet music chart. Through this mini-album, 2AM will be able to show hybrid genres with trendy sounds and danceable beats, a 200% upgrade from their last. To fit the global trends in music, electronica sounds can also be heard. The title track which is the same as the mini-album title, is still the vintage power ballad we are known of 2AM.

2AM also starts venturing outside of music, mostly notably Jo Kwon’s appearance in the popular TV Show “We Got Married” with Ga In of Brown Eyed Girls.  Known as the adams couple, they have become one of the most popular couples on the show. It also helps 2AM to gain more recognition.
