DBSK “Best Selection 2010” Album Goes Double Platinum In Japan

The Recording Industry Association Of Japan announced on Friday that Dong Bank Shin Ki’s (known as Tohoshinki / TVXQ in Japan) album “Best Selection 2010” has achieved double platinum status, having sold over 500,000 copies.

That number also makes it the top-selling record ever sold by a foreign artist in Japan.

According to the RIAJ, “Gold” status is given to an album or single that sells over 100,000 copies and “Platinum” is given when 250,000 sales is reached.

“Best Selection 2010” was released almost a month ago on February 17 and is their first compilation album. It contains two CDs of their most popular Korean and Japanese songs and a DVD of some highlights of their concert tours in Japan.

Last time DBSK released an album in Japan was one year ago with “The Secret Code”  in March. They plan to release their latest single in Japan “Toki wo Tomete” on March 24.
