SNSD Takes Over Asian Music Charts

Girls’ Generation’s “Run Devil Run” has won its first #1 on a music program.

According to KBS Music Bank’s homepage on April 5, the girls won the #1 spot on K Chart for the show on April 2. Last week, all the major music shows were canceled due to the Cheonan sinking incident.

The girls had passed T-Ara, KARA and 2AM to get the #1 spot on the K Chart. Their previous song “Oh” had won #1 on Music Bank for 5 consecutive weeks and SBS Inkigayo for 3 weeks.

Girlgroup So Nyeo Shi Dae dominates the major Asian music charts.

A SM Entertainment representative has revealed that the song “Oh!” by So Nyeo Shi Dae is up #1 on various charts in various Asian countries like Thailand, Taiwan and the Philippines.

It was released on March 9 in Thailand and is up on the local B2S TOP20 and GRAM ASIAN POP TOP10 album charts, and also #1 for the 3rd consecutive week on Thailand MTV International Chart, Channel [V] Countdown Asian Chart.

In Taiwan the album was released on March 12 and has dominated album sales charts G-MUSIC, FIVE MUSIC and Kuang nan as well as radio music charts like hit fm, iradio and KISS radio. The song was up #1 on online music chart KKBOX weekly single chart until the 4th week of March.

The album was released in the Philippines on March 19 and is also doing very well on various album sales charts and music charts.

With all the success of their music throughout Asia, we are able to see how much popularity the Girls have gained with the release of their second full album.
