Rain And G-Dragon On Top Of Gaon Charts

Rain, making his comeback to the K-Pop music, can be easily considered a success as “Love Song” from his new special album debuts at number 1 on Gaon’s singles chart.

Last week’s winner, Girls Generation’s “Run Devil Run” fell to 4th, while After School’s “Bang” moved up to number 2.

Rain’s “Love Song” has been doing well on online charts since it was released on March 30. The special album was released on the 8th.

G-Dragon also debuted on top of the albums chart with his special concert album “Shine a Light”, which was a live recording of
his solo concert held last December in Seoul.

Also having the top album last week, Girls Generation’s repackaged album went down to #3. Beast’s “Shock of the New Era” went to #2.

The Gaon music chart, which started in February, gets its data from online
and offline sales of the country’s major web-based providers and record
distribution companies. It is considered the Korean equivalent of the
U.S. Billboard chart and aims to give an accurate view of how well songs
and albums are actually doing.
