JYPE Responds To Allegations Of The Wonder Girls' Mistreatment.

While the Wonder Girls’ new album is only a few days away from being released, news has come out recently of allegations that JYPE has been mistreating the girls.

Daniel Gauss, the Wonder Girl’s former tutor from October 2009 to May 2010, has talked about the group not having health insurance coverage, JYPE use of illegal housing, and the coercion of one of its members to perform a private concert for corporate executives in China.

Jung Wook, CEO of JYP Entertainment, commented on the allegations today.

In an article by the Korea Herald, Jung said they had health insurance up until January, when the group was still registered with a language institute.

“That was possible because they were legally allowed to apply for health insurance as students but because the girls had been flying back and forth from Korea to the U.S., they stopped attending classes which took them out of coverage once they left the school.”

He refuted claims of medical neglect and said that there was never a time when they weren’t given medical attention if they needed it. If you’re a top class star like the Wonder Girls, your health is our first priority.”

As for the issue of illegal housing, JYPE’s representative said it was the property owner who had remodeled the location for office use. He also stated the contractors were to appear in court for a previous fine, but did not.

Sunye had addressed the allegations on the groups’ fan site, starting with Gauss’ argument that she had to perform at a concert for mobile phone manufacturer Sony Ericsson, which the girls endorse in the Asia-Pacific region, despite her father becoming ill.

She said that her dad’s condition improved, and after consulting with her family and their doctor, she was able to take part in activities in Korea with her group.

Sunye affirmed that her English teacher’s statements “are not true” and added, “I cannot help but feel a bit taken aback by him talking publicly about my personal life.”

Ye Eun also recently twittered something about the recent news.
“That is how we’ve been treated wrongly… Because we haven’t been given the chance to repay them.”
