Super Junior's Kim Heechul Confesses: I Almost Quit

During Tuesday’s episode of the SBS talk show, “Steel Heart”, Super Junior’s Heechul admitted to almost quitting the group.

Rumors surfaced long ago about his fate with the group, but were squashed when he continued his activities with them. However, he decided to publicly confirm his previous desires to leave while on the talk show.

Heechul stated that he often felt “overwhelmed” with carrying out group activities because he had many solo activites to deal with as well. “I was in a lot of conflict with the members because of this,” he said. “Even the fans said that I wasn’t good for the team, so I resigned from the fan cafe.”

Swamped with activites and pressured by the rumors about his departure, he surprised everyone at SM Entertainment and announced his wish to leave the group. However, he reversed his decision and decided to stay, when another member of the group told him that they had left his space empty during their practices and encouraged him to return at any time.

The confession undoubtably moved the audience, as well as fellow bandmate Lee Teuk, who ran out of the studio in tears.

Heechul is one of the more versatile members in the group, and has been casted in dramas and participated in many variety shows. He can be seen currently on the variety show, “Family Outing Season 2”.
