Veteran R&B artist, Brown Eyed Soul has finally returned this year with the first of three double single releases. The group teases us with these singles in light of their third studio album, which is expected to reach music lovers later in the fall. Due to member, Naul’s mandatory military service, the group had been on a hiatus, but is now up and running with new music. Each of the double singles will include two new songs; this particular single with “I’ll Move Aside” and “Blowin My Mind.”

The single starts off with the title track, “I’ll Move Aside” a groovy R&B ballad number about leaving a loved one’s side coolly. The song highlights brass instruments that flow beautifully with the members’ harmonization skills. The group does a great job bringing out much emotion to the song. However, the second track, “Blowin My Mind” was the one that especially caught my attention. This fairly upbeat number is very relaxing and showcases smooth vocals from the members. The piano and percussion accompaniment which can be heard throughout the track is a definite plus and it brings listeners to the 1970-1980’s era of African-American soul and jazz.

In conclusion, I believe singer-songwriter, Brown Eyed Soul has once again succeeded in releasing quality music, leaving fans hungry for upcoming releases. Be sure to check out group’s future singles in the upcoming months!
