YESTERDAY ONCE MORE:
Jung Il Young – 기도 (Prayer)
Genre: Pop Ballad

Album: KBS Drama “Autumn Tale” OST (2000) Track 7
Watch: MV
Comment: We haven’t introduced too many drama OST songs in this segment so this week I decided to do one. “Prayer” is the theme song from the classic tear jerking KBS Drama “Autumn Tale” starring fairly new actors at the time Song Seung Hun, Song Hye Kyo, Won Bin, Han Chae Young, and Moon Geun Young as a young Song Hye Kyo. All of them went on to superstardom after this mega hit drama. This drama is largely responsible for the first wave of “Hallyu” and many fans (including myself) got interested in Korean entertainment. We can hear this song at or near the end of each episode in the drama. “Prayer” is sung by Jung Il Young and we can probably classify him as a one-hit wonder. He released two albums subsequently but produced no other hit songs. The last we heard of Jung Il Young was in 2007.
