After School’s subgroup, Orange Caramel, which consists of members Reina, Nana, and Lizzy has released their first mini album this summer with the concept of “Candy Culture.” The girls have shed their powerful and sexy image of After School in order to show fans a new style and start a new trend. The title track, “Magic Girl” was composed by Jo Young Soo who has created hit songs for top artists such as SG Wannabe, Seeya, and Lee Seung Chul. It is a medium tempo Bokgo dance number with a Bokgo dance popular during the 1980s; it flows well with a Korean melody. It has easy lyrics that are sung brightly by the group.

Cho PD, Brown Eyed Girls, and Yoon Il Sang, who had created a hit summer song, “Hold the Line” in 2006 has returned once again with a brand new digital single, “La La Land.” Cho PD, who has returned earlier this year with brand new hits such as “Act Proudly” has joined hands with Yoon Il Sang (together, creating PDIS project group) along with Brown Eyed Girls who have recently received much love for their songs, “Abracadabra” and “How.” It took them six months to figure out the direction of the song and was finally picked out of five songs of choice. The single is expected to be warmly received by Korea this summer.

As One, who never fail to warm our hearts with their vocals has returned after three years with a new album, “ASONE Season.” The title track is “Sonnet” which was composed and produced by hip-hop artists, Rhymer. It is a perfect song for the summer that brings forth happiness and love.

Hip-hop duo Untouchable, who have released hits after hits suchas “It’s Okay,” “Tell Me Why,” and “Oh” has returned once again with a new digital single, “Merry Go Round.” The song which was co-composed by Kang Ji Won and Kim Ki Bum, showcases the duo’s dynamic tap along with acoustic instruments that flow well with Monday Kiz member, Jin Sung’s vocals and pianist Minji’s accompaniment. Listeners can hear the sad melody through this number.

Shim Eun Jin, who was the lead vocalist of Baby VOX, has been doing various activities from singing to acting. Shim recently has released a new single, “Even If I Live a Thousand Years” which showcases her boyish vocals. Many OST production companies have taken interest in this song with lyrics about waiting for a lover who has recently broken up.
