BIOGRAPHY
For this week, Soompi’s featured artist is Korea’s “It Girl” Seo In Young. She made her debut with the popular girl group Jewelry in 2002. She enjoyed popularity with the group with hits such as “I Like You,” “Super Star,” and “Passion.”

She released her new album as a solo artist in 2007 with a sexy new image, sexy dance moves and the nickname, “Elly.” Seo’s first single, “I Want You,” written by producer Jeong Yeon Joon from UPTOWN, is flavored with Latin, Hip-hop and R&B sounds. The song was also worked on by Dave Foreman, who has worked with American stars.

Seo In Young left Jewelry last year to focus more on her solo activities. She has been doing a few singles for drama OSTs and also been featured in MC Mong’s digital single in March this year.

For her latest album, “Lov-Elly,” Seo In Young invested a lot of effort into the project and even had a hand in the album design. For this particular album, her songs are more ballad-based and consist of lyrics revolving around the theme of love; different from her previous album before which were heavy focused on up-tempo songs.

Recently, she made her comeback on M!Countdown and received a first place award.
