Brown Eyed Girls, who made their breakthrough with “Abracadabra” have been selected this year to sing for Korea’s annual figure skating showcase, Festa on Ice. The special album the group has taken part in consists of five tracks.

The album starts off with the theme song for the event, “Magic,” a refreshing upbeat number that has a tinge of pop rock. The soft yet strong vocals of the girls flow well with Miryo’s bold rap, making the song enjoyable to listen.

The next song is “Jump” a bubbly mid-tempo number that leaves a positive message about being able to achieve one’s dreams if one wishes for it. I think the only part that bothered me was the dialogue in the beginning; the English was a bit too awkward for my liking.

The album ends with a remix version of their hit song, “Abracadabra.” This rendition brings out the techno feel, the heavy beats playing a major role. Fans of the song should definitely check out this version.

Although Brown Eyed Girls are now considered idols, the group has been able to prove its talent nonetheless through this special album. Their superb vocals are a must listen.
